Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while in Morocco, stated that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) will become part of India without any military action. He said that the people in POK are discontented with Pakistani authorities and themselves want to be part of India. "Ms.2K. will come on its own, why are you worried? Ms.2K. has started demanding," he remarked, highlighting the growing calls for integration from within the region. The Defence Minister, who was in Africa for the inauguration of a Tata plant, has made similar assertions in the past, reiterating India's stance that POK is an integral part of the nation and will be reunited. His comments have once again brought the longstanding issue to the forefront of the India-Pakistan debate.
