To understand this scene, it is important to notice that Hachirota and Ai are playing the Japanese word game named Shiritori. In this game, the players are required to say a word which begins with the final kana (or syllable) of the previous word. Only nouns are permitted. A player who plays a word ending with N (ん) loses the game, as no Japanese word begins with that character. Moreover, words may not be repeated.
The game is subtitled with the romaji transcription on the first line and the English translation on the second line.
