Hey everyone! Dr. Krista here, and we need to talk about something that's affecting almost everyone watching this video - your posture.
Did you know that 90% of your energy is used for posture? So if you're not in proper alignment, you're literally wasting energy every single day. Jesse shared something incredible with us - after a year of consistent chiropractic care and these stretches, her head weighs 15 pounds less than when she started! That's the difference between proper alignment and the forward head posture most of us are carrying around.
Here's what's happening: we have upper cross syndrome. Weak deep neck flexors, tight pecs pulling your shoulders forward, weak lower traps, and super tight upper traps from all that stress we hold. The result? Tech neck, headaches, jaw pain, and that heavy feeling like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Just because this posture is common doesn't make it normal. Whether you're texting, working at a computer, holding babies, or sitting at school - pretty much everything in our modern world pulls us forward. But I can't put you in a bubble, so I'm going to give you the tools to counteract it.
We'll work through the chicken exercise (yes, it feels weird but it works!), doorway pec stretches, floor angels, thoracic spine openers, and lower cross syndrome fixes like bridges and planks. Remember - the stretch you hate most is probably the one you need most.
This isn't just about looking better. When your nervous system isn't fighting poor posture all day, you have more energy for everything else. Your body can focus on healing instead of just trying to hold you upright.
