Cassandra Stanfill has a long history with the Air Force, growing up as the daughter of an active duty Airman. She started her college career interested in biomedical engineering with her sights set on becoming a doctor.

She recalls, “I was studying physics...mechanics...and I really fell in love with it. I decided that I wanted to be an engineer instead of a doctor.” Cassandra is now a human systems integration analyst at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. She works primarily with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) control stations, ensuring that the cognitive workload stresses UAV operators experience are manageable.

“We want to make sure that new systems and new ideas are tested and they that the operator needs are considered… they’ve got a lot of information coming at them at once,” she explains.

Cassandra is proud of the work she does for our nation's security. “The Air Force has really cool technology to work with, and you still get to support the people who are on missions. That has a special place in my heart coming from a military family.”
