Ann Hui is one of the most important directors of Hong Kong cinema. In the 1970s, she gained experience in television, which she later turned into more than thirty feature films. In them, she opens universally understandable themes that resonate not only in Hong Kong society. Her films have been shown at renowned Berlin, Venice, and Cannes festivals.
