Procession starts for Golden officer killed in on-duty crash

A Golden Police officer was killed and another was injured in a crash Wednesday evening.

The Colorado State Patrol said three officers were working a crash on Highway 58 near Washington Avenue in Golden just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. One was in a police cruiser near the crash scene and two other officers were managing the crash site when a driver ran into the two officers, forcing them under the original crashed vehicle.
