Arctic heat record is like Mediterranean, says UN. The highest temperature recorded in the region last year of 38°C (100°F), is officially confirmed (occurring in Arctic Russia). And the warnings of the Thwaite's Glacier in Antarctica expected to break up in the next 5 to 10 years.

50 billion tons of ice that will melt and will add to rising sea levels. To put that into some context, when Mount St Helens (USA) blew a lot of its mountain away in 1980 (CE), that was a huge amount at 19 million tons and a wide area was devastated, and that was ONLY 19 million tons of rock and blast. And though water here, this will still be 50 Billion tons! That's more than 2,631 times more tons of water that will be released into the sea (even though it might take a few years for it to all melt).
