Like map 16, "Devil's Den," this map tells a story with its layout and contains many optional sections that reveal its true nature. There are three hidden emblems that must be shot to fully access the deepest reaches of what appears to be a pharaoh's tomb with a corrupted mechanism installed at its base.

As far as the action is concerned, the map is not especially difficult. Enemy resistance is relatively light, but as usual, maxing it ratchets up the challenge appropriately.

Secret 1 - 0:07 - Open the metal panel and kill the chaingunner for an early chaingun.

Secret 2 - 0:22 - In the Secret 1 room, you will notice the emblem that needs to be shot on the east wall. However, you will need to go outside and shoot through the grate to hit it. This opens the wood panel behind you leading to a switch that opens the way to the super shotgun and one half of the level's secret.

Secret 3 - 1:33 - Lower the red wall for a Berserk pack.

Secret 4 - 1:41 - Shoot the emblem behind the pillar without a revenant to open the core room behind you.

Secret 5 - 2:32 - Shoot the emblem through the bars then press the skull switch in the corner to access an elevator to the ankh area and ultimately unseal the core.

Secret 6 - 3:41 - Ascend the mechanism deep within the core to teleport to the BFG and an alternate means of accessing the yellow key.

Secret 7 - 4:24 - Lower the computer panel for a room with multiple switches in lava. The one with the anubis hieroglyph lowers the computer area map and the one with the scarab grants access to Secret 10.

Secret 8 - 5:54 - Pass through the bloodfall with the three barrels in front of it leading to a teleporter to Secrets 9 and 10.

Secret 9 - 6:00 - Leap out to the crate and drop to the next one below for a backpack.

Secret 10 - If you watch carefully at 5:56, you will see a small yellow skull switch on one of the cliff steps. Pushing it opens a wall to your right and if the scarab switch in Secret 7 was pressed, the pit leading to the invulnerability sphere will be accessible.
