Thelma White was a true renaissance person beginning her career as “living doll” named Baby Dimples where she would remain completely still until given a cue to come to life. Before she was a teenager Thelma had a vaudeville act with her sisters called “The White Sisters”. Her next stop was Broadway where she shared the stage with the likes of; Charlie Ruggles, Margaret Dumont, William Frawley, Milton Berle and Joe E. Lewis.

By the time she was 20 Thelma had made it out to Hollywood where she appeared in a number of musical and comedy shorts and some features. The biggest film she was in was the part of Mae in the cult classic Reefer Madness. After a bit of a gap between 1938-42 she retuened to the screen and also she made a USO tour with her band Thelma White and Her All Girl Orchestra. In this clip we see them doing their biggest hit was a 1946 record called “Shoo Shoo Ya Mama”.
