Prof. M.G.S. Narayanan is an eminent historian of the early South Indian regions, hailing from Kerala. He has been vital in the activities of the Indian History Congress at various capacities. He has published enormously on the Chera kingdom and other facets of the region's history. He is known in Kerala as a poet, literary critic, political observer, critic and social activist.
