Malware writers can install malicious code on your devices that gives them access to the very basic operating system, and you can bet they are working hard to do it as quickly as possible. So short answer, the latest update your seeing on your Apple devices is one of the more serious fixes Apple has released in some time.

It might contain some annoying problems but Apple will likely fix those in short order. installing the patch or update is worth the aggravation.

Apple doesn't say much in its explanation of what's included in the update because it fears hackers can learn something from the explanation. The important thing to know is if you see an update available on an iPhone, iPad, Mac computer or Apple Watch, you should install it as soon as possible.
