The Nets flew today at the Ocklawaha River Dam on the backside of the Spillway! I had too many fish on film that I couldn't Upload them all, just the highlights.
After only a few casts, my nets picked up so many hooks and debris from the bottom that casting became difficult & I had no idea why. I found several hooks and sinkers in both my nets once I went through them carefully.
I wanted to show you guys what type of fish lives in this location and I think we got a pretty good idea. One final mystery remains though... What was that massive fish that broke out of my monofilament net? While I was going through it at home, I noticed a 6' hole had been tore out the side. I think that fish was so strong he literally ripped out with brute strength.
I will bring the braided net there someday in the future and catch that monster fish with the 80lbs braid webbing, Good luck breaking out of that!
One recommendation I would make for anyone wanting to try out this location is: Use a nylon net for this location because once you get off the little beach area, its very rocky & you will loose your net easily. Cast with caution!
