What is the best way to treat a snakebite? Regan Marsh, MD, Emergency Medicine Physician at Mass General Brigham, explains what to do in an emergency, including how to assess snakebite symptoms. Not all snakes are venomous, but you should seek emergency medical treatment so that antivenom treatment can be given as soon as possible if necessary. In the meantime, clean the bite with soap and water and cover with a clean, dry bandage. Snakebites can be frightening, but it’s important to keep calm and get emergency care as soon as you can.
