In this part one we setup database notifications, notify users, generate a middleware to share data with Inertia, and create a page to display and mark our notifications as read.

In the following video we'll leverage Laravel echo and Pusher to send and listen to notifications in the browser so we can automatically update our UI to reflect newly received notifications.

Disclaimer: In all of my videos I try to simplify things as much as possible and keep videos short and to the point to not overwhelm the person watching.

In order to keep things simple, I often ignore possible errors and flaws. For example:
the user can like their own tweet and receive a notification
when saving the notifications in the database we save a "hard copy" of the user who liked the tweet - a user that might change their email or username in the future - causing our profile links on the notifications page to break (404s)
you can like/unlike/like a tweet - and that will send out multiple notifications
I tend to keep everything inside the controller - ideally the controllers shouldn't contain much logic.
