This is the first of two songs about a brother and a sister forced by their beliefs to stand on opposing sides, facing each other in the final battle.

This song is from the sister's perspective, with her questioning if she could have stopped this if she'd seen the signs sooner, if she'd been closer to him and had been there when the other's left him in his moment of weakness.

To her, he embodies hatred itself. He seeks only to destroy the light, the embodiment of justice and peace. In her eyes, he's become a monster that can't be saved.

Though she tries to convince herself she will do anything it takes to stop him, she still questions if this is her fault, if this all could have been avoided if she had chosen to lead their group instead of forcing her brother, who never wanted to be a leader, to take up the responsibility and shoulder the weight of every death.

In the end, her indecision and self doubt cause her to lose the battle, with nobody left to stop her brother from reaching Heaven itself to achieve his final goal; to slay the Gods themselves.
