This 1964 BBC Hamlet has never been issued on DVD or VHS, which is a disgrace. This video is the biggest collection of clips from the program in circulation. The film was shot at Elsinore Castle in Denmark (now known as Kronborg Castle) and was directed by Philip Saville.
The cast featured Christopher Plummer, Michael Caine (in his only shot at Shakespeare), Donald Sutherland, Robert Shaw and Roy Kinnear.
