396. न चाहें ब्राह्मणं ब्रूमि, योनिजं मत्त्तिसम्भवं।
भोवादि नाम सो होति, सचे होति सकिञ्चनो।

396. मैं किसी को सिर्फ इसलिए ब्राह्मण नहीं मानता क्योंकि वह ब्राह्मण माता के गर्भ से पैदा हुआ है, अगर उसके अंदर नैतिक कमजोरियाँ और मोह-माया की जकड़न है, तो मैं उसे ब्राह्मण नहीं कहता, ब्राह्मण तो वही है जो विकारों और मोह-माया से मुक्त हो।

3. सच्चा ब्राह्मण कौन है?
असली ब्राह्मण वह होता है जो विकारों (जैसे क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, अहंकार) से मुक्त हो।
वह व्यक्ति जिसे भौतिक चीजों का मोह नहीं होता और जो सत्य, ज्ञान और नैतिकता के मार्ग पर चलता है, वही सच्चा ब्राह्मण कहलाने के योग्य है।
