In Episode 3 of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Leif ties up unfinished business in the Hinterlands before traveling to Val Royeaux to speak with the Chantry. What should have been a moment of diplomacy quickly turns volatile when the Templars arrive—only to rebel against both the Inquisition and the Chantry itself. The betrayal sends shockwaves through the city, leaving even Cassandra shaken, unable to recognize the Lord Seeker she once knew.

Amid the unrest, an invitation arrives from an unknown ally, drawing the Inquisition into a secret meeting. Along the way, Sera joins the team, bringing the influence of the Friends of Red Jenny into the Inquisition’s growing circle. The invitation leads to an elegant gathering hosted by Vivienne, who offers the strength of her mages—and her own service—to the cause.

Upon returning to Haven, troubling news surfaces: the Grey Wardens, a thousand-year-old order forged during the First Blight, are mysteriously disappearing. With rumors of a lone Warden in the Hinterlands, Leif decides it would be wise to have a Warden at the Inquisition’s side. The search leads to Blackwall, a seasoned Grey Warden, and to a somber task—delivering a final letter to a family on the farms before assisting with a Warden matter in the Hinterlands.

The episode ends at the War Council, where faith in old orders is shaken, new alliances are formed, and the shadow of something far greater begins to loom.
