Greek Odyssey: A Family Summer Adventure

We visited Greece with our five kids in tow during the scorching heat of August.

Our journey began in Athens, where we saw stunning beaches, tasted delectable food, and generally marveled at Greek history. We embarked on a Greek cruise with Celebrity Cruise Lines and explored Thessaloniki, discovering ancient ruins, including the House of Dionysus, and visiting a church while learning about the White Tower. We wandered through the stunning blue and white streets of Mykonos, and we even booked a tour of Delos Island to see the ancient city. The remarkably preserved old City of Rhodes left us in awe. Santorini was a sight to behold, but the crowds and intense heat made it challenging.

We visited during the thick of the high season in late August. It was gorgeous but absolutely packed with people! Despite the heat, we had a great time visiting this ancient epicenter and think it’s a wonderful place to visit as a family.
