Fuji for Wildlife Photography? Fujifilm XT3 + XF 100-400mm f4.5-f5.6!

You wouldn't normally use Fuji and Wildlife Photography in the same sentence, so how does the XT3 perform with the XF 100-400mm f4.5-f5.6 for Wildlife Photography? The short answer is, it's not the best setup, but if you shoot only Fujifilm we don't have much choice.
The lens alone will set you back £1600! For almost the same money you could buy a 2nd hand Nikon D500 and the 200-500mm f5.6.
The 100-400mm is a great lens, extremely well built, but Fujifilim simply don't have the same glass for wildlife and it's hard trying to justify the cost.
I thought the XT3 and this lens combo would be all I need but it turns out, I was wrong. As I said it's better on the XT3 but it's still not great. So unless you absolutely want it, need it, I can't fully recommend this combo for wildlife.
If you shoot multiple genres, one camera won't do it. It'll be like buying a Ferrari and towing a Caravan!
