UK Govt has indicated social distancing is likely to continue to the end of the year. New Zealand, France and Germany are exemplifying implementation of temporary lanes to enable more secure cycling and walking. As Edinburgh and Glasgow are reported to be considering what actions they can take, we will consider how it assists COVID-19 safe distancing and what is needed to make it happen.

The Scottish Government has launched a Places for People initiative to fund the creation of more space for walking, cycling and wheeling during social distancing. The funding will come from ScotGov and be administered by SUSTRANS.
