Welcome to my all custom modern farmhouse! I chose a bold combination of black and white for the exterior, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The front facade features a crisp white brick tower that really pops against the black siding and trim. I love how the rustic wooden beams support the wrap-around porch, adding warmth to the modern design. The large, sleek windows are one of my favorite features—they let in so much natural light, making the interior feel bright and inviting. The metal roof gives the home a contemporary edge, and the perfectly manicured landscaping just adds to the overall curb appeal. If you're like me and appreciate a mix of modern aesthetics with a touch of farmhouse charm, this home is the perfect blend of style and comfort. Below I will add some of the features we decided to upgrade and the special designs we made sure to include!
We are originally from Nashville, Tennessee and will be relocating to Oklahoma City! My husband's family has always lived there and since we started having kids, we want to be closer to family to have added support. We have 3 kids under 3, and a very large family in Oklahoma that we want our children to grow up with. We are SO excited to start this new chapter together!
It took us almost 5 years to design this house, we created the floorpan and literally every single detail. This has been a project that we have been so passionate about from the start and it's such a dream to finally bring it to life.
For the exterior, I aimed for a moody vibe, choosing SW Tricorn Black as the primary color and SW Pure White for the front tower section to add contrast. The house features over 40 black-framed windows, both inside and out, with some custom-sized at additional cost. The black tones continue to the three-car garage, ensuring a cohesive look.
We hardwired multiple areas of the house for our security system, avoiding the need for batteries. The wrap-around porch, with cedar columns to be stained in Early American, also features three ceiling fans. Landscaping was kept simple with boxwood bushes around the porch and Emerald Green Arborvitaes at each corner.
Inside, the grand foyer welcomes you with 20-foot ceilings and a nook designed for my Christmas tree. To the right, black double doors along with glass panels lead into the formal office, where judges' paneling was designed to match the stair railings. Arches throughout the space will complement the decor.
A black door with glass panels leads to a hallway, connecting to a half bath and the master bedroom. The master bedroom is spacious and filled with natural light from five windows. Large beams span the ceiling, and while I’m considering a neutral paint color, I currently prefer to keep the room light and airy.
One of my favorite spaces is the luxury master bathroom and closet. After careful planning, we included a large soaking tub and a zero-entry, curbless shower. The shower glass was custom-made to span 10 feet tall, enhancing the space and creating the illusion of taller ceilings, making the bathroom feel like a true retreat.
The grand, formal living room features a striking black fireplace flanked by stained bookshelves, creating a stunning focal point. Two sets of double doors span the large wall, adding a luxurious touch. The chef’s kitchen boasts a large island, ceiling-high cabinets, my dream Café appliances, a black accent section, and mitered-edge countertops, which were a worthwhile upgrade. The pantry mirrors our current one, with ample storage, floating shelves, and a lovely window, making it a perfect complement to the kitchen. The mudroom, leading to the garage and laundry room, blends storage with modern details. The spacious laundry room, with two large windows and quartz countertops, offers ample storage for our family of five.
Ascending the grand stairway, the second living room overlooks the foyer and features a back wall with four large windows offering views of our one-acre yard. On one side are two spacious bedrooms with a Jack-and-Jill bath for the kids. The other side houses a guest room with its own bathroom, featuring a stylish shower and large rain-style showerhead. The attic will be transformed into a bunk room for family sleepovers. Downstairs, a large covered porch with a wood-burning fireplace and a concrete pad offers additional outdoor living space.
