We dive into it here to give you a simple explanation and breakdown of the history of how RayTracing came to be available in the PC mainstream games market in 2018, and what it means in modern times after it was released for current gen home games consoles in 2020 to close the gap. Remember, just because a game has good looking god rays, does NOT mean it has been ray traced e.g. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla discussed within the video!

This video is only intended to be a quick and simple explanation for RayTracing hence the video title card ‘RayTracing for Dummies’, and therefore it does NOT cover a highly complex detailed breakdown for RayTracing implementation such as Cube Space, RT cores, caustics, path tracing, and so on.
