Описание к видео RFA Argus arrives carrying Ebola aid and supplies, UK minister reax

(30 Oct 2014) A British naval ship carrying hundreds of troops, medical supplies, helicopters and trucks docked in Sierra Leone's capital on Thursday to help respond to the growing Ebola crisis in the country.
The RFA Argus docked in Freetown carrying 300 military personnel, 32 pick-up trucks, three helicopters, and medical and other supplies.
"This will bring our total task force in country to about 900 people, about 750 military personnel and about 150 civilians, who are here to support the government," said Donal Brown, head of the British Ebola Task Force in Sierra Leone.
Although it has a hospital on board, the ship will not accept patients on this mission.
Instead, it will serve as a hangar and take-off and landing zone for the helicopters.
The Commanding Officer of RFA Argus, Captain David Eagles, said that people on board are "very proud" of the mission.
"We are confident that we will make a change, that we will make a difference, we will save lives in Sierra Leone and we will help contain the outbreak," he said.
According to the World Health Organisation, the death toll from Ebola has risen to nearly 5,000 people, mainly across Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.
In Sierra Leone, even though the outbreak is now hitting areas in and around the capital, the country's east has seen the disease wane.
The outbreak has taken a particularly high toll on health workers, sickening more than 520, and greatly reducing the health system's capacity to respond in the three most-affected countries.
