Chief Electrical Design Engineer for cars and Land Rovers. Later just Land Rovers. On the team that designed the Land Rover thereafter. Designed the alternator and later air-con systems.

Member of design team1st Jet car (Display; London Science Museum) and went to Belgium in 1952 to test it. Went to Belgium to test it with entire Rover owners and directors. He also worked on the 1st Jet Boat in the 1950s, designs later implemented by Bill Hamilton.

Represented UK industry for standardising car electrics, often at committee meetings, Belgium and France Also designed equipment used by the Australian military on Land Rovers, went to Australia in 1959 when commissioned.

Also worked on early prototype lasers. He believed that one day surgeons would use them instead of scalpels!
