“Bring It On Down” was the seventh track on the Oasis debut album “Definitely Maybe” released on 29 August 1994. It was initially intended to be the debut single, but that ended up being “Supersonic” instead. Noel has cited this song as “a tribute to The Stooges, the MC5 and punk rock”. The no-frills production, thick-sounding, full-on distorted guitars, fast tempo, political undercurrent, and references to class struggle in the lyrics make this feel like a genuine punk rock song.

As with most of the bass lines from “Definitely Maybe”, this one follows a strong eighth note rhythm throughout and has plenty of repetition. I’ve chosen to use a pick on this cover, which gives an edgier punk-rock feel, in keeping with the original Oasis sound. Check the links for the videos with Noel’s lead & rhythm parts, Boneheads' rhythm part and the solos slowed down to various practice speeds. There are also takes where I’ve played Noel’s parts with a capo on the second fret, similar to videos of me playing the two solos at various practice speeds, along with Noel’s lead & rhythm parts (with and without capo), Boneheads' rhythm part, he has played the song in later years and, more recently, during the 2025 reunion tour.
