Motivated by my buddy Sean O Shea wirh his words of punishment being hijacked to mean abuse and it’s the farthest thing from it. Applying a proper punisher, which is just the opposite of a reward is how you stop an unwanted behavior. Your not stopping an unwanted behavior wirh a reward or the wirh ok ding of a reward you are stopping it by making that certain unwanted behavior uncomfortable to the dog. When you use your proper marker words of NO then apply the punisher to stop the behavior the dog will understand. Then you can start training with a reward based system what you want. So many folks don’t give the dog that step one which is the punisher and they struggle. Keep in mind that the punisher part is 1-3 seconds and then the reward part is hundreds and hundreds of reps. When you understand how to apply a punisher properly that gives you expected results you use your marker word of NO prior to it your dog will understand and it’s the farthest thing from abuse
