Can the root zone do anything with carbon?

In this video we talk about carbon in the root zone. We discuss carbohydrates, aminos and organic acids. Specifically I discuss some of the scientific literature on the subject as well as whether it makes sense or not to add these exogenous substances to nutrient solutions.
