A word from our CEO this tax season
SARS has officially published the opening and closing dates for this year’s filing season and if you’re a South African taxpayer, these deadlines are not to be missed.
Filing Season Opens: 7 July 2025
From this date, non-provisional taxpayers can begin filing their 2025 tax returns via eFiling, the SARS MobiApp, or in person at SARS branches.
Non-Provisional Filing Closes: 16 September 2025
If you’re employed full-time or earn a fixed salary with no complex tax components, this is your final deadline. No extensions are granted beyond this date.
Provisional Taxpayer Deadline: 23 January 2026
This applies if you earn income outside of traditional employment such as from rental property, freelance work, investments, or as a director/shareholder of a company.

SARS is continuing its shift toward automated assessments, prepopulated forms, and strict compliance tracking. If you don’t respond to your auto-assessment or fail to file timeously, penalties and interest may apply even if you didn’t owe tax.
