This amazing Greek song is about one of the most saddest, yet influential moments in world history, The Fall of Constantinople. The Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium) was on it's last leg, as the Ottoman Turks approached, on the 29th of May, 1453, the city, and all the history surrounding it, like the cities creation during Roman times, its presents in Christianity (primarily Orthodox Christianity), and the history surrounding the Hagia Sofia, would all fall into Ottoman Turk hands.
