Tinikling is a traditional Filipino dance that originates from the Visayan region of the philippines. Tinikling involves clicking bamboo sticks, rhythmic taps, and graceful movements.

Make A Change is an annual event at the end of the school year, showcasing various Filipino Dances learned within Franklin High School's Tinikling Dance Club (TDC). With almost 40 club members in total, Tinikling Dance Club puts on an elaborate production consisting of high to low energy dances and even guest performances of different cultures. High school students gain the ability to connect back with their cultural roots in the US and do so in a family-like community through the countless meetings, practices, and performances they execute on a daily basis.

The entire purpose of Make A Change is to positively impact the lives of others in the community by donating 100% of the proceeds made to a specific charity. During MAC 2024, TDC chose the Justice for Arriola-Ochengco Campaign hosted by Northern Californian Philipinx American Student Association (NCPASA).

Elderly couple Nicanor Arriola and Julienne Ochengco were attacked at the Sacramento State Capitol, enduring adversities from medical bills and loss of income recovering from severe physical injuries and trauma. From this, the couple has attempted 10 court hearings and has received zero government assistance in their time of need. The NorCal and SoCal community is calling for justice, standing in solidarity with the Arriola-Ochengco family and raising funds to decrease the pressures of medical and legal costs placed upon them.
