Onboarding emails are among the most useful emails to build trust and familiarity among your new customers. Onboarding emails are sent after users sign up to educate and walk them through the ins and outs of using your product or services.

For example, if a user signup for 7 days-free trials, you can trigger an onboarding email journey containing 3-4 emails that educate them on how to use different features of your products. These emails act like a user guide and eventually aim to convert free trial users into paid customers.

The onboarding email is often followed by a welcome email and focuses more on nurturing the customer as they explore your tool. When done right, these emails can help you in many ways. Samar pointed out the following benefits:

1. Increase app or tool adoption rate
ONbaording email walks your user through different features and uses cases of your software. When you tailor these emails to individuals' pain points and use cases, users invest more time in your tool to do their tasks.

2. Reduce churn rate
Due to increase engagement and adoption rate, new customers might turn to churn less if you send them relevant and targeted onboarding emails.

A good email marketing strategy is sending the right email to the right user at the right time.
