This is my 100% playthrough of metroid dread, on hard mode and on digital version 1.0.2, collecting every major item and expansion in the game except for spin boost and space jump. This was recorded in segments, and emphasizes speed, but also does some silly routes / tricks because they're fun and cool (like early super missiles, or screw attack during frozen artaria). As this isn't a super serious speedrun nor one that I'm submitting to a leaderboard, I went ahead and trimmed out every load for a smoother watching experience.

This was mostly glitchless - the only trick used is water bomb jumps, which is the basic trick required to skip spin boost by reaching the water ledge at around 1:00:01 just before the ice EMMI (though, after I recorded this, someone found a to skip it via a really tight shinespark, so it isn't needed anymore). I do NOT use any shine sink clips, pseudo waves, invincibility glitch, etc - this is purely a personal choice, and not because I think it's cheating or difficult or deserves a separate category or anything like that. Also this kind of challenge was just a fun little excuse to use cross bombs... a LOT lol, as they're by far one of the most creative and underappreciated upgrades in this game in my opinion.

I don't have much interest in actually speedrunning this, but this as close as I would get to speedrunning this without actually speedrunning it. I also intentionally made it a point to NOT study any existing speedruns at the time - while this means I'm almost definitely not using optimal strats, it also means I wouldn't tunnel-vision in to current strats and potentially come up with optimizations on my own, which is more fun to be honest.

Also unfortunately, at around 22:51, the start of the next segment got corrupted and lost, which is why it jumps to arriving in Cataris - thankfully the only real gameplay lost was traversing like one large room in Dairon, on the way to the train to go back to Cataris, so you didn't really miss much. This entire segment got a little bit messed up which is why there were a handful of frame drops for the next few minutes.
