Policeman Ahmed Rashid opposes prosecution for murder

Eastleigh based policeman Ahmed Rashid has filed an application to stiop the Independent Policing Oversight Authority-IPOA and the Director of Public Prosecutions from charging him with murder.
Rashid's lawyers filed the case Wednesday, five days after the DPP gave the nod to have him charged. Rashid's lawyers, among them Danstan Omari, questioned the evidence proffered by IPOA, saying it would not stand in a court of law. Amnesty International has however questioned the policeman's motives in rushing to court saying it amounted to panic. As Mary Muoki reports, Rashid's case was filed by lawyers flanked by members of the Eastleigh Business Community and supporters from the area.
