Samantha's "Story of Resilience" has been produced as part of "Empowering Latinx Youth Through the Lens as Mental Health Advocates." A project of Operation Street Kidz (OSK) in collaboration with the L.A. County Dept. of Mental Health - Latino UsCC.

Samantha represents LA County - East (Service Area 7), and is one in a group of Youth Mental Health Advocates who are supporting and encouraging other youth through the sharing of their stories.

Samantha Nieves (@spacedoutarte) is a Chicana poet, artist and organizer born and raised in East Los Angeles. She has maintained her passion for civic engagement through artistic social practices that uplifts topics such as mental health, personal narratives, and access. Samantha actively seeks opportunities to engage underserved communities through the healing medium of art. Currently they are a full time student, Co-Chair of M.E.Ch.A. at ELAC, and Getty Marrow Education and Community Engagement Intern at the Vinent Price Art Museum located on the East Los Angeles College campus.
