First Ineos Grenadier on Gold Mountain Jeep Trail in Big Bear, California! The rig was extremely capable with the USA spec lift kit and 35x12.5” Open country RT Trails. This was a great shakedown run to test out the articulation and to help identify the strengths and weaknesses of the car for rock crawling purposes.

Strengths: beefy axles, front and rear lockers, good ground clearance, narrow stance, articulates well despite no front sway disconnects, great approach and departure angles for a car this size, good break over, lighter than common steering input force

Opportunities: adjustable high misalignment links, longer shocks, extended brake lines, front DC driveshaft, transmission skid, control arm skids, fender flares for lcog with 37’s, regear to 4.88, wider stance, steering radius

Recommended modifications for this trail rated 6-8:
2.5” lift, 35” tires, rock sliders, full size spare, air compressor, good spotter

Necessary modifications: minimum 33” tire, comfort with potential under carriage and body damage, some experience with 5/10 trails, ok spotter

This is the rock scree section or rock garden about midway through the trail. Although this section technically is not difficult, you have to clear a few waterfall sections to get to this point. The rocks make a delicious sound as you traverse them but be careful with tire placement as these rocks are sharp! Makes for an excellent backdrop with expansive views of Big Bear and Baldwin lake!
