You should make a habit of paying attention to the character's names. There's a number of jokes centered around character's names in this game. For instance, Balsa gives us the (wooden) board splitter puzzles, and Balsa is also the name of a type of wood. Oh, and for a (perhaps) less obvious example, Remy. Remy seems to sleep a lot, and "the REM cycle" is one of a few cycles of sleep.
