It's around one month before lambing time and the ewes are really heavy.
I try to be nice to them and do the whole thing stress free - as you see at the end of the video though, the sheep may have another idea altogether!

White Spælsau is a breed developed from the smaller Spælsau, and retains its ancestor's intelligence, as well as care for the lambs. The wool could, I believe, classify as lustre, with very long staples and "glossy" fibers.
It is indeed so fine that it's hard to get a good finish when shearing it; it's easy for the wool to bend under the comb and cause second cuts.

The individual in the video is especially large and heavy, with a full fleece that is not very clean, as well as full of lanolin.
The temperature is around +5°C, so not the best for shearing.

My gear is my trusted 588 comb and a 3mm cutter.
