Join us on a ride along the Rhaetian Railway's scenic Engadine Line from St. Moritz to Scuol-Tarasp in south-eastern Switzerland, following the course of the young river Inn as it winds its way towards the Austrian border.

We begin our journey at the internationally famous resort of St. Moritz, where we look at some of the varied winter sports on offer, before boarding our train for a summer ride down the impressive Engadine valley. At Samedan we pause to look at the history of the line, which was operated with electric traction from the outset, one of the earliest lines to pioneer this new method of propulsion.

The joys of steam running are not ignored, and we join a special excursion hauled by No.108, one of the RhB's vintage steam locomotives. We also look at work taking place inside the new Vereina tunnel, which when completed will be the longest metre-gauge tunnel in the world.

Along the way we take the opportunity to wander around the old town of Zuoz and the picturesque Engadine village of Guarda. Journey's end is at the spa town of Scuol and we look at the luxurious bathing complex before visiting the imposing castle at Tarasp perched on its rocky outcrop high above the river. This journey is a delight for all lovers of Switzerland's special railways and spectacular mountain scenery.
