Take a tour of the Flowers Baking Co. of Lenexa, LLC, which opened in mid-June after $10 million in improvements to the shuttered Hostess Brands bakery at 8960 Marshall Drive in Lenexa. In the 137,000 square-foot facility, Flowers Foods produces Wonder bread and buns, Nature's Own, Home Pride and Sunbeam bread products. Flowers Baking Co. re-opened the bakery with a bread line churning out 150 loaves of bread per minute, then in August added a high-speed bun line capable of cranking out 800 buns per minute.
