Sarasi Kutasi is a festival of the Asurs who celebrate it to honor their ancestral knowledge of iron smelting and tool making.

The Asurs are a very small Austroasiatic ethnic group living primarily in the Indian state of Jharkhand. They are native to the present day Gumla, Lohardaga, Palamu and Latehar districts. The Asurs have been classified as a particularly vulnerable tribal group by the Government of India with apopulation of 10,528 as of 2011.

Their language is known as Asuri, to which they refer to as hoR kahaRi. Asuri belongs to the North Munda Branch of the Austro-Asiatic Language Family, it's sister languages being Mundari, ho and Santali. The important festivals of the Asur are related to agriculture, hunting, iron-smelting and the ancestors. One of their festivals is Sarasi- Kutasi. It is celebrated in the lunar month of Phagun.
