Playing double strokes properly requires each hand to play two notes - first a wrist stroke, followed by a bounce stoke (no wrist motion involved with the second stroke):

R R. L L R R L L R R L L etc.

In this video, we start slow (20 bpm) and gradually work up to 350 bpm.

At the slower tempo, focus on using proper technique, especially as it relates to the wrist and bounce strokes. As the tempo increases, be curious as to how your fingers can help with the articulation of each note while continuing to use the wrist and bounce strokes.

Remember to stay conscious of your body (especially your shoulders, and neck) and your breath as you play. The goal is to stay relaxed and play with minimal tension in your body.

For more of a challenge, change the playback speed of the video by clicking on settings (the gear icon) in the control panel. Available options are 125%, 150%, 175% and 200%.
