Nexus is supporting this year's Light Rail Conference, which is taking place in Newcastle-Gateshead.

The UK Light Rail Conference returns for 2021.

July 13-14 this event marks the 15th running of this international congress and exhibition that brings together professionals from across the public transport sector to share experience and best practice.

At a time when the industry has never needed a greater requirement for continuity and stability, this two-day event includes insightful and interactive presentations and debates, over 50 top-level speakers, and a busy exhibition of leading suppliers and service providers.

As we move to the North-East, delegates will learn first-hand the lessons from the Tyne and Wear Metro’s major renewals programme, as well as insights into the next exciting phase of fleet replacement, infrastructure modernisation and expansion.

It is vitally important that we run events our delegates are confident to attend, scheduling them into fixed dates in the calendar, and evolving their location to make sure they are more relevant than ever.

The mood of the Conference in 2019 was summed up event chair Ian Brown CBE in his closing remarks on the second day, saying that the lively debate marked “a turning point for the industry. We’ve all got a lot to look forward to.”
