Biking the Withlacoochee State Trail - Inverness to Floral City.
Withlacoochee ‘Rail to Trail’ is a 46-mile long paved, multi-use, biking delight passing through Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties in the state of Florida. It follows along the Withlacoochee River and passes through the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is one of the longest paved rail trails in Florida. The Brooksville’s Good Neighbor Trail connects to it near the town of Inverness. We biked 40 miles round trip from the Inverness trailhead to a little beyond Flora City where the I-75 overpass is located. There were lots of wildlife, lakes and stunning countryside to enjoy… this is one of Florida’s top rated trails with lots of shade to keep you cool while biking.
