I was sitting late at night, scrolling through some videos when an idea struck me. Since I'm sharing how to get a job related to video editing, why not make a practical video about it? I already have a job, so I decided to show you the entire process practically. At the end, I'll reveal if I got selected or rejected, the salary I demanded, the salary they offered, and whether I joined the job or not.

First, I applied for the job on Indeed. I'll show you how to apply, including how to create a resume. You'll find a link to a resume-making video in the description or the i-button. After making your resume, upload it on Indeed and create a profile. I entered my location and job role preferences. Once I enabled notifications for video editing jobs, I started receiving relevant alerts.

I applied to multiple companies, which was a mistake because it becomes hard to keep track of which company is calling you. So, I recommend applying to just one or two companies and waiting for a week for their response. If you don't get a call back, then apply to more.

When you apply for jobs, be prepared for the interview. Companies don't just hire you for your skills but also check your loyalty, discipline, background, and previous job performance. I had four years of continuous work experience at my current company, which impressed potential employers.

I got a call from a company asking about my experience and availability. They scheduled a face-to-face interview after reviewing my profile and resume. I went to the interview, where they asked similar questions as on the call. I filled out a form with some general knowledge and math questions, and also answered questions about video editing terms and technology.

During the interview, I explained why I wanted to leave my current job, focusing on my desire for growth. They asked about my YouTube channel and freelance work. After the interview, we discussed salary. I mentioned my current salary and my expectation of ₹35,000. They agreed to the salary, but I didn't take the job because my current salary is higher and my role is more advanced.

The company didn’t ask for a technical test, possibly because they saw my YouTube channel with 5,000 subscribers and were impressed. They even asked why I needed a job when I had a successful YouTube channel. I explained the need for a consistent income and my passion for teaching. They were unaware of YouTube monetization, tags, and SEO, indicating a lack of knowledge about the platform.
