Recently, a study from a few years ago has been making the rounds across the Internet which seems to have found evidence for the existence of human NPCs; people without an inner monologue, who do not experience sensations, feelings, visualize thoughts or possess an internal narrative structure. Is it really possible that a percentage of the population, in this case 17% to 30%, are functionally robots who fundamentally do not think the way the rest of us do? Let's look at the evidence for the existence of IRL NPCS and how we all experience internal cognitive phenomena.
