Use the armhole curve of the Dritz Styling Design Ruler, located between measurements 13” and 26”, to blend adjustments lines around necklines and armholes.

For example, if the pattern size you’ve chosen needs a lower neckline; mark the amount you need to change with a dot. Find the curve in the ruler that best matches the pattern’s design line. Then slide the ruler down to the dot and draw a new design line. To lower an armhole, mark the amount you need to change with a dot. Then find the curve in the ruler that best matches the pattern’s design line between the armhole notch and underarm edge. Holding the ruler in place at the armhole notch, pivot the ruler to the dot and draw a new design line. To increase or decrease the shoulder width at the armhole, mark the amount you need to change with a dot. Find the curve in the ruler that best matches the pattern’s design line. Between the armhole notch and shoulder line, hold the ruler in place at the armhole notch and pivot the ruler to the dot, Draw a new design line. Be sure to repeat these types of adjustments on any corresponding pattern pieces.
