Many monolingual children lack cultural understanding and a strong sense of cultural identity. This reduces their global competitiveness and income potential, as well as their ability to cultivate empathy and foster inclusion toward others. As a first-generation immigrant to the United States, Tatjana believes that multilingualism is the doorway to true diversity and it helps break boundaries and build cross-cultural and cross-generational bridges.
In this talk, Tatjana shares 5 reasons why languages are dying and what we can all do to reverse this global crisis, the 3 C’s most people miss out on when it comes to multilingualism, and a simple step parents, teachers, and leaders can take to easily help children stay safe, become self-confident, happier, and stronger in the face of challenges, and ultimately help them create opportunities and thrive in a global society.

Tatjana’s mission is to help people worldwide harness the power of multilingualism. Tatjana grew up in a multicultural setting, has worked on several continents and graduated with degrees in linguistics and law, and has over three decades of experience interpreting and teaching languages. She works with multi-national families, multi-cultural teams, educators, school boards, corporations, and governments, to spread awareness and create programs and policies that support language diversity. Tatjana is deeply passionate about empowering immigrants to preserve their heritage, pass along emotional equity, cultural identity, and native tongues to future generations.
