Rubina Tamang is the Program Coordinator of Blue Diamond Society, a pioneering organization strongly advocating for the identity and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community in Nepal. One of the icons of the country. In this conversation, we discuss the challenges, barriers, and hardships faced by people belonging to this community. She shared her painful experience of her visit to the hospital as the doctor refused to treat her. We talked about the people who are regressive in nature and refuse to believe in natural concepts like the existence of the queer community and much more. The judgments received by the community are extremely regressive; though things have been changing slowly, trans people are still asking for basic rights like employment opportunities, equal pay, etc. This is our tiny effort to bring about change since we are the next generation to decide the future of Nepal. One of the most memorable conversations of my life. Enjoy the episode.
