How Do I Find A Good Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hi. I'm, John Medler, with the Medler Law Firm. Today I'd like to talk to you about how to find a good personal injury lawyer. This is probably the first time you've ever been in an accident, or injured, and needed a personal injury lawyer. So it's difficult to know where to begin.

One of the first things you can try and do is talk to a friend of yours in your family who may be a lawyer. It doesn't have to be a personal injury lawyer, maybe a divorce lawyer, something like that. Oftentimes other lawyers know who the best lawyers are in their community, but if you don't have a friend of yours who's an attorney, you're probably going to have to go to the Internet. But where do you start?

One of the first things to do is try and find out if your personal injury lawyer has a proven track record of success in getting good verdicts for their clients. One way to do that is the website for the Million Dollar Advocates Club or the Multimillion Dollar Advocates Club. That website lists attorneys in each state who have been successful in getting their clients million dollar verdicts and often multimillion dollar verdicts. I'm a lifetime member of both the million dollar advocates forum and the multimillion dollar advocates forum.

Another thing you can do is go to the site Avvo. A-V-V-O. Avvo ranks lawyers on a 1 to 10 scale on such things as peer recognition, awards and distinctions, experience in their field, customer satisfaction and things like that. I have a perfect 10.0 rating with Avvo and was also given Avvo's customer satisfaction award for giving the best advice to clients over the internet.

Another thing that you can do is find out if your trial lawyer is board-certified.....
